Kids!
I had the ultimate pleasure of hanging out with CMJ RPM contributer Tim
Haslett (he's a friend first) at a Russ Meyer film festival. Among
other things which we talked about, our discussion got sweaty palmed
when the topic turned electro. In particular, I put a hole in the
ceiling when he mentioned his 'electro' article for the Hip Hop issue of
Streetsounds (next issue).
I got a quick look at the 2000 word corrected copy and was pleased to
see all ranges of the phenomena given proper representation. (He
did miss some dutch artists, but give him a break, he's not on line ;)
Before you all get short of breath worrying that the mainstream has
attached another sucker on the underground take a deep breath and check
the back of your From Our Heads Volume 1. (Tim's given thanks there.)
This is one music journalist that has had his ear in the dirt since the
seeds were planted. Even further, Tim's collection blankets the
spectrum of subcultural sonic forays. My kind of dooby.
"Electro has come home to roost." Tim

ps. why has the Intellinet crew not mentioned the space dj's release?
or anyone else for that matter. let's crank it up here now.
