I just picked up the new nine inch nails: further down the spiral, because I heard that it had TWO Aphex tracks on it. Well, I went to Tower, and they only had the import single in. Wanting to hear it now, and seeing that the import said that it included 2 remixes not on the U.S. release, I went ahead an bought it. Well, it only had ONE Aphex remix. From what I have been told, there is a disc out with TWO Aphex re-creations. The one on the import disc is "at the heart of it all", which is like a mixture of Ventolin (hard heavy rythem) and some of the orchestral-sounding stuff on "I care". The import (or UK) version of the single doesn't have "the art of self destruction, part two" on it, which should be the other Aphex re-creation. It looks like the special two tracks on the UK disk are just two remixes by Charlie Clouser (who is that?); they are just dance remixes, but I didn't think they were anything special. The Coil remixes are excellent, though. And, I did like the Aphex track (how coudn't I?). Luckily, the local Tower takes returns and exchanges, so I can exchange it for the domestic (US) version when they get it in, which should have both tracks. SO, in short, the UK version of the nin:further nown the spiral (MCD 8041/ 524 125-2) does NOT have two Aphex mixes, only ONE. If this is old news, I must have missed it, as I am new to IDM. Also, I picked up the FSOL:Far Out... ep, and it I believe it was definately worth it for the two tracks not on ISDN. P4UL S3YMOU2 [P4S4D3N4, C4L1F02N14, US4]
