In my experience Ortofon did tend to put out a higher level output but
never lasted as long as Stanton cartridges. As far as Mixers go the
classic club mixer is a Urei but most unexperienced DJ's don't like not
having a cross fader. The next best by far is a Rane. Urei's and Rane's
are the cleanest and quietest phono mixers I have ever heard and are
incredibly durable which is the most important feature (IMO).
