Aphex Twin =Miles Davis?
sorry if this a strech but I have read a couple reviews comparing Aphex to
Mozart, where I see the similarites of the fame and influence of closer to
Miles Davis.. its a little too early to tell if Aphex will havethe same
lasting legacy........
-Influence in all sub-genre's of one type of music
maybe they both didnt INVENT the sub-genres wthin their choosen feilds but
they were/are the one to help define it
-reclutant pointman everyone sees as the face of change and progress and
was/is lining up to work with....
-recognized name , even by people who never hear any of the music...
everyone has heard the name Miles Davis.. Aphex is becoming a recognizable
name , even by people who have heard any IDM
-Moody reclusive who is feircely independent, performing with disregard to
audience
Miles had the habit of performing with his back to the audience,........ also
the way out there fusion stuff in the 70's was very abrasive and taxing on
the listeners,. he didnt care,. he wanted to push the music where he wanted
to go. and if they came along for the ride , well ok fine.......... sounds
like the same attitude Aphex brings to his gigs.
anyone agree?
