That's one thing that had been bothering me about the so-called electro
revival. Alot of the newer tracks were good 'n funky, but they just
sounded like cleaner, slicker regurgitations of the old stuff. But that's
not the case anymore IMHO. Stuff like the original mixes of Antacid I &
II, Paul Bishop's 'Electron Flow' on Eevo-Lute, the new Plaid EP on Clear
and 'Subsonic Soundscape' on Shiver are injecting a real sense of melody and
soul into electro. It's not just a revival anymore, it's an extension and
techno-ization of the old sound I think. And that's pretty fresh, ain't it?
