Here is some new shit that I have picked up recently that gets me going....
Monster Music-Iridal Records 50th release comp-Iridal 50 ird com 2
this little number is a compilation of exclusive tracks taken
from the "Monster Music" Pirate radio shows from the summer of
1992....1992 is a while ago but these stand the test of time real well
motherfuckers....Highlights of the compilation include "Yes UFO's" by
Beautyon which has a voice talking about space and the possibility of
alien visitation, with some ambient noodling and then out of nowhere
comes in the most wicked beat to move this track along real
nicely....This is the beat to drive me beserk....I dig it to say the
least....Other highlights include "Hold" by Ray Tracing which is a
extremely up beat happy little techno number with a melody that could be
played by an ice cream truck, but this just has an evil edge to it, I
could imagine dressing up in a clown suit and then getting extremely
violent, while this song plays in the background, this track reminds me
of something the Aphex Twin or U-Ziq might make in their sinister but
happy mood. And Lastly we have Aqua Regia -"Po-Lu-On" which is a dark
Techno piece with a Detroit feel....The strings in this song are very
powerful.....Nice compilation....Well worth the 13 pigskins I paid for it...
Antihouse-Antihouse-Visible Records cd-1004
A new full length cd from Visible Records out of San Fransico, let me
tell you I like this label, ok, I will admit there have been a few
stinker releases...but there have been some shit hot ones as well
(Beltram-Aonox comes to mind)....This cd falls in the shit hot
category...Real deep heavy ambience and spacy bleepy shit with a lot of
drones and synth washes and laser synth sounds....Imagine being dosed on
25 hits of acid, and then stripped of your clothes, surrounded by
space-munchkins, and bright lasers and led's, while the space-munchkins
feed the computer of the mothership bleeps and blips while huming an evll
analogue work chant....this is what track number 2 sounds like....THis is
some wacked out shit.....I lIke it...It credits a D. Rudolph as one of
the musicians could this be the same D. Rudolph from Skinny Puppy? Or
maybe it is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer? Who knows.
