Not really IDM, but Tricky is/are a trip-hop outfit, quite similar to
Portishead, though without the cocktail-lounge vocals. I think Tricky himself
is a guy who used to be in Massive Attack. The album Maxinquaye has
(deservedly) had heaps o' praise here in the UK. If you like Portishead,
you'll like Tricky I reckon. One of the tracks even uses the same Isaac Hayes
sample as Portishead's Glory Box - I thought it was a remix of Portishead
when I heard it in the shop.
