I presume you are talking about: MORGANISTIC "fluids amniotic" 2x12"'s [8 tracks total] (but I didn't know it was Luke Slayter...?) I wanted to wait until I could write a "real" review, (if ever that will happen) but I was thinking this is the best chunk of wax I have laid ears on in a long time. This reminds me of Robert Hood's "minimal nation" (specifically that track with that haunting sample: "the rhythm of vision.") mated with Basic Channel's earlier work, dark and fast, weird line noise (but doesn't get in the way) but not too heavy on the acid, either.... this is simply amazing work, I've listened to it everyday since I got it. Original, too. I was surprised no-one else had mentioned it. Long fast builds and subtle effects to short loops.... washy but not *too* washy or subliminal, totally a useful DJ tool, also. I believe there is one track that is slow(er) but all these are basically techno-set ready. Hmmm, I'll have to get the record jacket to list the track names and the record label (it slips memory today) so if you want, when I get home I can post the rest of the info. Morganistic is, IMHO, an essential record, the best thing I have bought in '95 to be sure. If you like the darker, faster stuff with a colder feel, check it out, it's pretty damn impressive. _______________________________________________________________________ Matt MacQueen GROWTH.
