the people from across the pond may be able to clarify this (i'm still
not certain it's not a joke...) but a trainspotter is someone, in the
uk i believe, who tries to spot every single car of every train in
the isles. very strange.
in terms of music, a trainspotter is someone who purchases compilations
for a single remix they don't have, someone who purchases all formats
of a single even though they have the same remixes or to get that one
extre 'edit', someone who own every album by every side band of every
member of a given group, someone who owns a copy of all the remix work
done by a certain group, or someone who wishes that they fit into one
of the categories above and is slowly starving themselves in order to
do so.
in short, if you're on this list, you're probably a trainspotter :)
i'm not sure what autechre has against trainspotters, though i assume
they mean really hard core trainspotters...not us innocent young fans...
