Did anyone in the UK see Equinox "Rave New World" last night? It was all
about the "rave" phenomenon and how it went from disco to Hi-NRG to house
then acid, techno etc... it had all these psychologists wanking on about how
people respond to music that is devoid of mentality etc, and also it had a
bit about ambient with Matt Black from Hex/Coldcut and also FSOL doing an
interview... strange stuff! then a bit about those techno-hippies in the US.
Very interesting... they said they'd mail punters transcripts of the show if
they mailed channel4@cityscape.co.uk ...
Anyway... I've decided that I'll get a Kawai K4, a Phonic BK8800 8:2 mixer,
an ART FXR effects unit and an OSCar synth (? or maybe a MS10?). Any
comments/suggestions? Bear in mind that this is the gear that will make the
album that will dominate this list come next summer! :)
And also if anyone wants to catch me DJing I'll be doing short sets at
Megatripolis and Quirky in London this week...
