Picked this one up at lunch whilst waiting for the bus home (having a record shop next to the bus stop is not good for my wallet). Anyway... Title: Auteurs Vs. mu-ziq Date: Out now Label: Hut (Virgin) Format: 2x12" CD Thought this was just a 12" EP but it turns out to be an album. Six tracks over 2 12"s. Bloody wierd stuff. Bloody good stuff. Had never heard any Auteurs stuff before this... in fact I still don't think I've heard any Auteurs stuff. The label (No track listing btw) says written by <someone>, Produced and arranged by Mike Paradinas. And I think he arranged most of the other guys stuff out of it. I only had chance for a brief listen... the last track stood out as a stunner; light jungley break (one of the best I've heard) over blurred guitars (yes, guitars feature (slightly), with an odd vocal). Lots of mu-ziq squeaks and squiggles, tonnes of bass... Has quite a slow feel to it all, definitely ambientish. Stunning cover btw. greg 3 0 3
