Continuing the countdown to the third edition of MUTEK, the MICRO_MUTEK
series serves up MICRO 4, a new episode featuring the German label PERLON.
A featured artist at MUTEK 2001, Zip / Dimbiman returns to Montreal with
fellow countryman Sammy Dee to present their joint PANTYTEC project.
Montreal's AKUFEN will also perform, demonstrating the style that ties him
to PERLON. It's a party to welcome Spring, with humour and groove on the
program.
Over the years, the PERLON label has strung together rare pearls to create
an elegant catalogue made up of innovative and highly pleasurable
productions. Complex rhythmic constructions, research into improbable
sounds and purification towards the essence of soul, invariably upheld by
an implacable swing, have created a signature that is distinctive and
highly respected.
In his conquest of the electronic world, AKUFEN's entry into the PERLON
family has brought great success. On top of having contributed to the
Superlongevity 2 and Love Family Trax compilations (mixed by Ricardo
Villalobos), AKUFEN put out *Quebec Nightclub* on PERLON, a double-maxi
that is currently wreaking havoc in Europe, where its first run sold out in
only a week.
As a member of PERLON, Berlin's Sammy Dee gets to the heart of
minimal-funk. Together with Zip, co-founder of the label known by its
yellow and black covers, he forms the duo of PANTYTEC. Live, they'll give
us a glimpse of what to expect from their first album - to be released in
April - while their respective DJ sets will prove once again that with
PERLON, fun should come without compromise.

Technologiques), the McAuslan Brewery and Remote.
And don't forget, the third edition of MUTEK will be presented in Montreal
from May 29th to June 2nd, 2002. The program will be revealed
progressively in April.
