Yes, Rhythm & Sound/Burial Mix always pleases my retro-dub-hungry
ears and the new Burial Mix 10" with Cornell Campbell satisfies that
craving. Speaking of which, i just saw in the Bent Crayon forthcoming
release mailout another new Burial Mix 10"! So even more new Rhythm &
Sound/Burial Mix to enjoy soon.
Here is that new release listing:
RHYTHM & SOUND/TIKIMAN: Jah Rule 10" (BURIAL MIX). "Burial Mix
strikes back -- three years after the release of BM05 (Rhythm & Sound
w/ Tikiman 'Why') and only a short while after the release of BM06
(Rhythm & Sound w/ Cornell Campbell), Rhythm & Sound team up again
with vocalist Tikiman. The latest release comes with blissed out,
addictive dub grooves that keep on rolling and rolling into your
hearts. Once again, the incredible Tikiman is giving the record
enormous spiritual depth with his unique voice."
Also on the Rhythm & Sound/Burial Mix tip, you might want to check
out the new Tikiman 12" called 'dub it witaattitude' on the new
Berlin-based False-Tuned label. Here is a recent review I did of it:
. Tikiman: dub it witaattitude 12" (False Tuned)
The debut release for the new Berlin-based False-Tuned label is a
4-tracker by label founder Tikiman (this time without Rhythm &
Sound's musical backing). 'Dubitwittattitude' starts off the ep with
a muted roots-dub sound with Tikiman chanting and sometimes even
adding some monotone Tricky-like rapping. Dub tradition mandates that
the next track on the ep is a dub version and it's called 'Witta
Dub.' This dub eliminates Tikiman's vocals and adds a few additional
dub effects. On the he flip side, which features 'Dis Day' and its
dub, sees Tikiman abandoning the dub sound in favor of traditional
(and rather formulaic) ragga-jungle with Tikiman and the MC and
vocalist. The highlight on this ep is definitely the dub-friendly
a-side, which is right in line with his Rhythm & Sound releases, but
the b-side foray into jungle is best ignored. For more information

BTW: Does anybody want to sell/trade me their copy of The Chosen
Brothers: March Down Babylon 10"? It seems to have sold out at all
the usual outlets and i really want a copy. Please reply privately.
