I can't say anything about the bar, I'm cheap don't usually buy booze at venues. Smoke, don't smoke. Alice Dee??? Well I dropped 3hits at the El Rey when Lex, Stewart Walker, Phoenicia, and Funksturung played. All I have to say is Lex blew my mind as I began to peek, Funksturoung killed my high, they bored me to tears - Funkborung became their name to me. Hopefully Ae continues to sound nothing like their "wanna-be" counterparts and that scenario happens to you.
