There's a description of the new roland processor the ef-303 in the new issue of keyboard. It's got a msrp of $595 so the retail should be arout 20% less than that. According to the write-up all of the knobs and sliders transmit midi data ....wheither its continous controllers(a good thing) or sysex (a bad thing) it does not say. Wish i had more info on this but when i saw Scanner last year, he was using some sort of effects processor similar to the kaoss pad (touch screen thing) and it was made by Roland if i remember correctly. He was playing it with a pencil of some sort. Maybe this could be better for you?? if not, get a Lexicon outboard effects thingy,(not that tweakable) or a deck of effects pedals!! J-F np. Roland has a desktop fx processor coming out soon. not a touch screen thing but a bunch of sliders to control parameters real-time..think it sends midi cc messages (maybe it doubles as a controler!). don't know the i/o configuration or price...just read about it a while ago at harmnony central or some such site. I think it is up on the roland site as well. It looks interesting....probably better built than a kaos pad. steve sorry if anyone got this twice....
