I recently purchased Ulf Langheinrich - degrees of amnesia <asphodel>. I have had it for about a week and it has not left my cd player. As far as I know it is only released on cd. At low volumes it is a distressing cd full of odd ambience. At higher volumes one can hear different pulses, rhythms and beats. This would be the music that the vast industrial machinery of our cities would create. At times it reminds me vaguely of the basic channel releases. However, this music is not as lo fi and dirty. It is a cleaner sound with dark ominous overtones. Some of the material on the disc is vaguely reminiscent of farmers manual as well. Though it is more flowing and controled. Well worth picking up. for more information and sound samples check out: http://www.asphodel.com/releases/0981/index.shtml -daniel
