First - sorry for the cross post - but there has been an AWFULLY large amount of talk of AJ on the IDM list so.... In the shopping bag 4/6 - 4/8 (Just got paid) 1) Wagon Christ - 'Throbbing Pouch' Believe the Hype! 2) Creation Rebel - 'Historic Moments V.1' Very good On-U dub from the late 70's 3) Donald Byrd - Kofi From the new Blue Note Rare Groove Series. A truly great record. 4) 110 Below V.2 - 'Trip to the cHIP cHOP' - V.A. I'm really suprised that no one has posted about this yet! Track Listing: 1 - DJ Krush 'Kemuri' 2 - Freddie Fresh & Hidden Rhythm 'Force Break' 3 - Howie B 'Birth' 4 - 69 (Carl Craig) 'If Mojo Was Am' 5 - Ultramagnetic MC's 'We Are The Horsemen' 6 - The Mighty Bop 'Muthafuckin' Ghost' 7 - Howie B 'Ambidextrous' 8 - U.N.K.L.E. - 'Dewback' 9 - Hip Optimist - 'Anafey' 10 - Beck (yes, that Beck) - 'In A Cold Ass Fashion' I reccommend all of these records - but my tastes are VERY varied - yet VERY particular. Don't make me explain this. Enjoy! >>>>Kevin - Hedonic Engineering SF<<<<

I'll second that :)

Well, I just got this, and it's great! But does anyone else think that the t**p h*p hype is starting to pay its toll...?

BTW, has anyone heard the Carl Craig LP yet? If interested, I can post here the politically uncorrect but hilarious Craig interview in the latest DJ magazine. Also an interesting Link/Wishmountain/Jac & Stepper interview, with Pritchard & Middleton slagging of Richard James, comparing him to Darth Vader ;) Bye, ERkki Tampere, pHinland trerra@uta.fi

The newest issue of Future Music also has a nice article with Pritchard/Middleton, pretty much covering all the bases although with a healthy concentration on gear, recording techniques et al. Included is a nice mini-discography that mentions a Chameleon EP on LTJ Bukem's Good Looking label. Anyone know if this has been released yet? - Matthew

Review anyone? - This is one of the artists I've never even heard, although you hear a lot about Throbbing Pouch - bears comparison with anyone in particular?

Absolutely agree. Can anyone submit a review of Volume 2 (just out in the UK)?

Again, just bought it and I agree. Fairly mixed but a solid collection. I read (somewhere!) of a new DJ Krush album, just called "Krush" - does anyone know anything about this, what label it's on, and if it *is* new? And is it like "Turntablized"?

You don't have to, it looks like I agree :)

can anyone mail me that interview ? I'm just *dying* to read it... I agree with P & M: he *must* be Darth Vader. Only who is Luke Skywalker, then ? "Krush" is actually the first album - "Turntablized" is the new one. I've only heard "Krush" once, but it sounded very good; it's more straight-up hip hop though, less IDM. I think it's quite hard to find. The person who played it for me actually lived in Japan when it came out - I think it was maybe a Japan only release? Daniel Lav danjlav@midway.uchicago.edu

The DJ Krush album 'Krush' will be released May 9th by Shadow Records,NYC There is presently a four track 12" EP out now. The quality of the Japanese version(the vinyl) was limited and of very poor sound quality. peace, dietrich

no, luke skywalker is alec empire. check out the cover of "generation star wars", mille plateaux 11! there he is, right between c3po and r2d2. btw the records sounds like myu-ziq, afx plus alec empire's "limited editions 90-94" effort thrown together (on -8 maybe). cheap thing to say but true. doesn't mean it's bad. p. - calling my name back at home: biochip c.: tb-uproar (...unison with mike ink's dadajack ep)
