* Kodwo Eshun - More Brilliant Than The Sun * David Toop - Haunted Weather * Modulations ed. Peter Shapiro - is very mixed, but has a few good essays * Undercurrents - The Wire's collection of essays is rather dry but interesting On the graphic side, the Sampler series (3 volumes) is brilliant. Out of all of them the Eshun is probably my favourite. If you have trouble sourcing anything best bet is www.abebooks.com HTH, Colin. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

You could check out Microsound by Curtis Roads. I haven't read it myself, but it seems very interesting. Check http://www.create.ucsb.edu/~clang/ for more info on Curtis Roads. There are links to all of his publications as well as some software (Mac only) and audio excerpts of recent compositions. Not started reading it yet, but if Ocean of Sound is anything to go by then 'Haunted Weather' by David Toop is also going to be excellent - the accompanying CD set is excellent. You can get it with the 2CD pack from Serpent's Tail for £20 ... http://www.serpentstail.com/news/?_P=NWS10356 "Noise Water <eat" by Douglas Khan isn't bad either. Tape Delay by Charles Neal covers some of the 80s stuff, such as Psychic TV, Cabaret Voltaire, Coil, but also more general experimental stuff from then. YMMV On May 03.2004, at 07.07, Marc Hermann wrote:
